English to Ukrainian: City of paradoxes General field: Art/Literary
Source text - English As a documentary photographer I was moved by what I saw. Most European cities have been restored, often in a commercial way, having been won over by the tourism industry. But Lviv had something that sparked in me, memories of my wanderings around Amsterdam and Rotterdam in my youth. It is a city that has not yet caught up with the modern world in general and that suited me fine. Every day I discovered new parts of the city. There were areas of great beauty and tranquillity and then there were the soviet districts, busy markets and churches, many churches. I spoke to people about what had happened in the past and what the challenges were for the future of the city. Lviv began to grow on me. Slowly but surely an idea grew that turned into a plan and that plan generated a decision. At the end of the week, a new photo project had been decided upon as a matter of course.
