Ովքեր այցելել են Հռոմի Կոլիզեյը, հավանաբար մեծ հիացմունք են ապրել դիտելով անտիկ աշխարհի քարտեզը, որտեղ ուվա•ծված է Հայաստանը իր վիթխարի սահմաններով և հզորությամբ….մինչդեռ ժամանակակից աշխարհի քարտեզի վրա Հայաստանը փոքրիկ երկիր է՝ փոքրիկ դրախտ աշխարհում:
Վերը նշված պատմական իրադարձությունների արդյունքում, մեծ թվով հայեր •աղթեցին աշխարհի տարբեր երկրներ: Ըստ վիճա•րական տվյալների, ներկայումս ութ միլիոն հայեր բնակվում են Հայաստանից դուրս: Սփյուռքահայերի մեծամասնությունը բնակվում է ԱՄՆ-ում և Ռուսաստանում, չնայած հայկական համայնքներ •ոյություն ունեն աշխարհի շատ երկրներում:

Those who have visited the Coliseum in Rome may have been fascinated by the might and the huge territory that the ancient Armenia occupied on the map of the antique world…….whereas on the map of the modern world Armenia is a tiny land.
As a result of these historical events, a great number of Armenians migrated to different countries worldwide. Currently according to the statistical data 8 million Armenians reside outside the country. Major Armenian Diasporas exist in the US and Russia and there are Armenian communities worldwide.

This period can be considered the first stage in the formation of local NGOs. The focus of these new NGOs was on refugees, women, children, elderly people and disabled people. The limited scope of NGOs' activities did not meet the growing demand for emergency services and operations; a lack of domestic NGO skills, knowledge, and capacities; and the absence of an appropriate legal framework. |
