Seems like many of us at are using the Urgent Care department at local clinics and quite a few of us are using the Emergency Rooms.
Each of these departments has its important place in providing good and appropriate medical care.
The Emergency Room is of course, the first and best choice for true emergencies, when life is threatened and or sudden injuries and health events would worsen if not treated immediately.
Urgent Care is also a good source of medical care when unexpected pressures of time or other conflicts prevent a prompt appointment with your own doctor or a minor illness occurs before you have a regular doctor. Urgent Care should only be used for minor short-term issues such as temporary minor conditions, minor injuries.
BUT
All of us at need to remember and to be aware that the cost to us is higher with Emergency or Urgent Care. An Emergency visit will have a $150.00 co-pay then deductible of 80%, unless you are hospitalized. Urgent Care charges will go toward deductibles and co-pays but the initial total charge is higher than a regular doctor appointment.
SO, employees, what is the most economical, yet safe and healthy way to receive your medical care?
Call your local clinic now. Establish a relationship with a family practice doctor!! As this can take a short time don’t wait until you are ill or injured! Make an appointment for a routine exam. Most routine exams are covered at 100%, and most importantly, a regular doctor appointment at the clinic is only a $30 charge to you. Insurance pays the rest.

Where are the hogs?
The last couple of months have been the lowest number of hogs we have processed for a long time. There are several reasons for this. One of them is the hot weather. In hot weather pigs don’t eat very much so of course they do not grow very fast that creates a hole in scheduling hogs here. Also, six months ago there were some viruses in the hog herds causing young ones to die. These are the main causes why we are running shorter hours. The good news is that the hog numbers are growing and by the middle of August we should be back up to 19,000 a day. We will probably start some Saturdays in September.
I hope everyone gets to enjoy the fair this year. I look forward to seeing you all there. I will be in the tent helping hand out wristbands. I really enjoy meeting your families the kids are blast.
Our safety has been better and the injuries have come down. We need to keep up our awareness and help each other out. Keep your eyes open for a new safety contest coming out. It should be a lot of fun and worth some money as well.
I hope everyone is having a great summer. As fall approaches and the busier we get there will be opportunities opening up. If you are interested in a management position please let Human Resources know. We will be happy to take you into consideration. Also tell your friends about we will be hiring for the busy season as well.

¿Donde están los cerdos?
Los últimos dos meses a sido el numero mas bajo de cerdos que hemos procesado en mucho tiempo. Hay varias razones de esto. Uno de ellos es el clima caliente. En climas calurosos los cerdos no comen mucho así que por supuesto no crecen muy rápido esto crea una interrupción en la planificación de cerdos aquí. También, hace seis meses hubo virus en la manada de cerdos causando los mas jóvenes a morir. Estas son las principales causas por que estamos corriendo menos horas. La buena noticia es que el numero de cerdos esta creciendo y a mediados de Agosto deberemos estar de vuelta a 19,000 al día. Probablemente comenzaremos algunos sábados en Septiembre.
Espero que todos lleguen a disfrutar la feria este año. Espero verlos a todos ahí. Estaré en la carpa ayudando a repartir pulseras. Realmente disfruto de conocer a sus familias los niños son a todo dar.
Nuestra seguridad a mejorado y las heridas han bajado. Necesitamos seguir siendo concientes y ayudarse uno a otro. Mantenga los ojos abiertos para un nuevo concurso de seguridad próximamente.
Espero que todos estén teniendo un gran verano. Como el otoño se acerca y lo mas ocupados que no encontramos habrá mas oportunidades de trabajo.
