Full-time translator since 2015 after five years as an ESL teacher at some of the leading English courses in Brazil.
I have a Licentiate's degree in Languages (Portuguese & English), an ATA-approved translation certification from Brasillis Idiomas and a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) from the University of Cambridge.
My genuine experience as a linguist has considerably helped me develop many skills such as researching, proofreading and acknowledging cultural and social aspects in a number of areas of professional areas. This has been essential for me as a translator, making my work much more practical.
I have mostly translated projects in the areas of tourism, education and journalism as well as institutional, environmental and general medical texts.
I consider myself a flexible professional though, being always interested in conveying fluent and meaningful translations above all else. As a volunteer translator and proofreader, I have helped bringing relevant content to light in Portuguese in areas such as: human rights, digital security, international relations, medical, and environment.
Joining quality and ethics to my work is paramount for me as are deadlines. This can surely create a long partnership based on trust and professionalism between my clients, collaborators and me. So, let me know what you are looking forward to in a translator. I'd really like to hear from you.
