Welcome to my page! I am a native speaker of English and a linguist of Indonesian and Malay. I hail from the New York area and have degrees from Cornell University in Anthropology and Asian Studies with a specialization in Indonesian language and cultural studies. Cornell's Southeast Asia Program has granted me near-native fluency certification in Bahasa Indonesia and Malaysia.

I have over a decade of experience living, studying, teaching, and conducting research in Indonesia. I worked as an adjunct lecturer of academic English at Padjadjaran University in Bandung, Indonesia, where I taught MS/MBA candidates. I also have extensive experience living and working in Malaysia and China. My range of experiences have granted me cultural competence in a wide range of contexts and linguistic fluency in both formal and vernacular forms.

I began translating while in the service of the prestigious John M. Echols Collection on Southeast Asia at Cornell University, one of the largest library collections on modern Indonesia worldwide. Since 2009, I have offered freelance linguistic services specializing in business/commerce, education, environmental science, humanities, law, social sciences, and tourism. I have experience translating and interpreting a wide variety of subject matter, from corporate contracts, technical manuals, geological surveys, and clinical trial reports to affidavits, personal documents, legal depositions, screenplays, and casual conversations. My many clients find me dependable, efficient, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented.
