I am a native English speaker from New Zealand and have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Canterbury, majoring in Japanese. Since graduating university I have been continuing to study and use Japanese every day. I lived in Japan for 2.5years until April 2018. I was teaching English to school students and company employees, as well as doing translation and proofreading work through my company.

I returned to my home country in order to continue my studies. I am currently working towards a Graduate Diploma in Translation through Auckland University of Technology, which will enable me to become a full member of the NZSTI if I achieve a B grade or above - so far my grades are all A and A+ - I will update this as I progress through the course. I will also sit the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in July 2019.

Being a freelance translator is my ultimate goal and I would love to continue doing general translations while I study towards expanding my skills.
