Bio

I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Translation (French and Spanish) and Portuguese Philology at the University of Leipzig. During my Bachelor’s, I got acquainted with the TM tool Trados. I studied one year in France (Applied Linguistics, Cultural Studies and Translation - French, Spanish and Portuguese) and did a six-months internship in the Translation Department of the University of Sevilla in Spain.

Subsequently, I acquired a Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting (French and Spanish) from the University of Leipzig. Alongside my Master’s studies, I gathered some professional experience, working as a translator (e.g. for the online magazine JournAfrica! http://magazin.journafrica.de/burkina-sankara-45163) and as an interpreter (Secrétariat franco-allemand, student unions of Strasbourg and Leipzig,…) participating in workshops (European Academy of Otzenhausen) and doing internships for conference interpreters (JCI Congress, Asylum Conference Dresden).

Thanks to a scholarship from the Portuguese Camoes Institute, I spent a three-months research period in Lisbon, investigating for my Master thesis (“Sentence Length and Information Density in Portuguese and German Scientific Texts of the 21st Century with Particular Focus on the Historical Development of Portuguese Scientific Language”).

After graduating, I worked for one year in the European and International Department of the French non-profit organisation La Ligue de l’enseignement in Paris. My work consisted in the management of European and especially Franco-German projects, which also involved translation and interpreting tasks.

After returning to Germany, I started to work as a freelance translator and interpreter for the languages French, Spanish and Portuguese.

I am a sworn translator for the courts and notaries of Berlin for the languages French and Spanish.
