My name is Ruicai(David) Kong. I'm a published, professional Chinese/English translator, proofreader, editor and writer. A native Chinese, I hold a PhD in Asian Studies from the University of Auckland, NZ, a MA in Comparative Literature, and a BA in Chinese Language and Literature.

A Pro translator between EN&CH, I've been involved in numerous commercial translations of various kinds since 2011. I’ve published two translation books ( On Lyotard; On Paul de Man). Seven translated books are to be published( including The Journal of Thomas Merton; Oswald Chambers: Abandoned to God; The Holderlin Reader; Derrida, Key Concepts; and Derrda’s of Grammatology, a biography and a book by Francis Schaeffer). My total Chinese translation output up to this date is more than 1.5 million words (Chinese characters). Currently I am working on five book-translation projects.

A creative writer, I’ve published numerous articles (creative works, academic essays, film, theatre and art reviews, news, etc.) in prominent Chinese/English journals, newspapers and magazines. I used to work as an editor for newspapers and magazines, and a lecturer at a University.

I'm fast and accurate. I offer you quick turnaround services and deliver error-free work. Please contact me for a CV, a quote or more details.
