A native English speaker, I spent part of my childhood in
Spain and returned as an adult to teach English at a secondary school. After
graduating from Glasgow University with a degree in Hispanic Studies (with
translation) I spent over 2 years at a Spanish company based in Glasgow, communicating
with Spanish clients by phone and email. After a further 2 years interpreting for asylum
seekers and refugees I qualified as a teacher.
With 13 years’ experience in the field of education, I specialised
in modern languages in the primary school and was accredited in Learning for
Sustainability by the General Teaching Council of Scotland. During this time, I
liaised with colleagues both in my own school and abroad to design and develop
comprehensive language programmes and cultural exchange projects. I provided a
training and advice service to colleagues in order to ensure accuracy in pronunciation,
sentence structure and grammar.
I will only work in fields in which I have extensive knowledge
to ensure high quality translations. My particular specialised subjects are
education, policy, sustainability, tourism and literary translations.
I provide a reliable and professional service. Please do not hesitate to get in touch for a quote.
