English to Portuguese: Resumo de artigo científico General field: Science Detailed field: Botany
Source text - English Apocynaceae is a family with about 5,000 species and widespread distribution among the tropics. In Brazil, approximately 760 species of this family are described, which can be found all over the country. Despite the wide distribution in national territory, Apocynaceae still lacks taxonomic studies, mainly for the Northeast and for the caatinga. The Pajeú region is in the state of Pernambuco and encompasses 17 municipalities in an area of 13,350.30 km², including areas of caatinga vegetation and rocky outcrops, considered of rich diversity. In this way, the present work aimed to carry out a taxonomic study of Apocynaceae species in the Pajeú Region. For this, field collections were carried out from May 2015 to January 2016, in addition to the analysis of previously herborized specimens. The identification of the species was carried out using specialized literature and compared with images of collections-types. Were identified 19 species and 10 genera. The genera with the highest number of species was Ditassa (4 spp.), followed by Aspidosperma and Marsdenia (3 spp.), Mandevilla and Matelea presented two species and one species was identified for the genus Allamanda, Funastrum, Prestonia, Schubertia and Temnadenia. Mandevilla dardanoi was identified as an endemic species of the caatinga. Marsdenia hilariana and Temnadenia violacea were new occurrences for the state of Pernambuco. Morphological descriptions, key to identification, comments of geographic distribution and photographs of the species are presented in the work.
