CV/Resume English (PDF)
I am Carlotta Capobianco and I recently graduated in Translation for Special Purposes at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. And now I started taking a Master of Professional Studies in Audiovisual Translation.During and since completing my MA in Specialized Translation I have been working using English and French languages to gain specific linguistic skills. In particular, I have learned how to translate different kinds of texts. I have written my MA thesis on subtitling, in particular I have subtitled a French movie unreleased in Italy, L’étudiante et Monsieur Henri. Therefore I have learned how to use subtitling editor software such as Jubler, Subtitle Workshop, Aegisub and Amara.Recently I have worked as freelance subtitler and translator for Amarcort Film Festival. This experience has offered me the possibility to develop strong organizational and technical skills, and also to improve my translation and subtitling expertise. Now I am working as freelance audiovisual translator at Savargad, an Italian company which translates documentaries and reality shows. I also work as freelance translator and proofreader for Pakur Limited, for which I translate food labels.I collaborate as volunteer translator for ESO (European Southern Observatory) and TED Talks, and National Geographic.
