This comes from the thread titled "Man lives using techniques from primitive times, prepares to take on the Iron Age." In Queensland, Australia, YouTuber "Primitive Technology" lives life as humans did in primitive times, starting out with nothing and then forging earthenware, building fires, and living in a primitive-style mud hut. We've compiled a summary of peoples' reactions from all over the world as he moves on to refining metal.
The man who hasn't given himself a name and works in silence is gaining popularity as he earnestly approaches the lifestyle of civilized society.

Man lives using techniques from primitive times, prepares to take on the Iron Age

Does he implement the same historical techniques used in those times?
↑ Anonymous
Yes, he does his research beforehand and then builds what he needs, but that doesn't mean he's restricted to one civilization's methods.
The stone ax originated from the Celts (present-day Ireland), and his hut uses a tropical style.
3. Anonymous
Everything must have been so redundant for people in those times.
It's not that I'm questioning their mental fortitude, but it really makes me grateful for all the conveniences we have nowadays.
↑ Anonymous
If one had the motivation to somehow overcome the rain and hunger, they could do whatever they wanted to.
↑ Anonymous
Some may think it's tedious but the parts where he crafts his tools are really interesting.
4. Anonymous
It's interesting that people in those times had way more free time than we do now.
5. Anonymous
Where on earth was he able to find this kind of uncivilized place?
↑ Anonymous
It's because he's in Australia.
6. Anonymous
This is a pretty absurd thing to do, but I'd also like to try living the way people did thousands of years ago, though it'd be impossible to do that in today's world if you don't have a ridiculous amount of money.
For starters, you'd need to buy a plot of land like he did.
↑ Anonymous
I'm sure it's possible if you join a tribe in Africa or South America.
↑ Anonymous
I live in a city in Canada that has a population of over 1 million people, and even still if you go near rivers and valleys you'll see homeless people living in cabins made out of trees. The police don't patrol areas that are off the mountain trails.
7. Anonymous
He's doing a lot more work by himself than Africa has in 2000 years.
↑ Anonymous
Yea but he learned everything about how to live in these times beforehand.
Those who live in Africa aren't able to do that.
8. Anonymous
In two years' time, this one Australian is accomplishing a lot compared to the 10,000 years of work the aborigines did... He's probably pretty close to making his own gasoline too.
9. Anonymous
He'll be building a rocket any day now.
10. Anonymous
If he had more time and resources he could probably fill out an entire tech tree from Age of Empires.
11. Anonymous
His little hut looks really comfortable.
12. Anonymous
I tried watching some of it, but he's not doing any agricultural work right? This isn't correct since he hasn't gone through the Neolithic age.
↑ Anonymous
He is growing potatoes though. It's likely just that his videos don't focus on the agricultural aspects.
13. Anonymous
It's amazing how efficiently he can build something complex like a ventilator!
14. Anonymous
Next time, on Primitive Technology, watch me build an interferometric gravitational wave detector.
15. Anonymous
It looks like he isn't too far from finishing the Iron Age, huh?
↑ Anonymous
I want him to finish building a steam engine within one year and then enter his own Industrial Revolution.
16. Anonymous
Just watching him make tools out of metal is really exciting, isn't it?
17. Anonymous
I think the best part of this video is when he reaches the last day and it makes me realize that I'd die within a few days if I did this.
18. Anonymous
I get so excited when he uploads his videos. It feels like when a good episode of a TV show comes on.
I love the way he builds things and the amount of polish that goes into it. I hope he does this forever.
19. Anonymous
I'm already really excited just to see him do the Iron Age.
20. Anonymous
This guy is walking through the woods in just a pair of shorts and refining his own metal. Like, what the hell am I doing with my life?
