Nationality: French - Profession: Translator - Field of specialization: Audiovisual Translation
I started working in audiovisual translation about 6 years ago, shortly after finishing my Master's degree in Audiovisual Translation at ISTRAD in Seville (Spain). My passion for this field came very naturally and predictably: although I studied Hispanic Philology in France, since the age of 18 I have never been able to make a clear choice between Audiovisual or Philology studies, as a true lover of languages and cinema. Then, at the age of 23, I decided combine these two passions: my journey into the wonderful world of audiovisual translation was born!
However, I have not forgotten my other passions, which are dancing and the cultural sector in general. I have always thought that the best translators are those who are able to become true "chameleons" in different sectors. Because to translate everything, you have to be an expert in everything, or at least you have to know how to find the best allies.
For the past six years, I have been working as a freelance translator with different clients and agencies in a wide range of countries and specialities. From general translation, through simultaneous and consecutive interpreting during events and professional meetings, to my speciality, audiovisual translation, in all its forms: standard subtitling, of course, but also SDH, and dubbing, script translation... I have recently added a new speciality to this list, which is becoming a real passion: the audio description!
