Coño, tío, lo único que de verdad quiero es ser una estrella de rock and roll. Eso es lo que te hubiera contestado, pero si no preguntas, ¿cómo demonios vas a saberlo? Quería conocer algunas drogas y dormir poco, pasar algún tiempo sintiendo que mi cuerpo y mi cabeza corrían por caminos distintos. Quería estar solo demasiado tiempo y rodeado de gente demasiado tiempo, quería sentir cierto dolor extraño al que sólo las estrellas de rock and roll están expuestas y quería explicarlo todo de una manera confusa, aparentemente superficial, pero sincera, algo que sólo pueden apreciar los que han estado enganchados a la cadena de hierro y azúcar del rock and roll. Una de esas cosas que no puedes agarrar pero que pueden empujarte o darte de patadas en el culo. El informe de Oliver Wyman desvelará necesidades de capital por importe global de 51.544 millones de euros en un conjunto de entidades financieras españolas, según los cálculos de Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA). Las estimaciones de la firma de análisis apuntan a que el grupo Banco Financiero de Ahorros-Bankia necesitaría 26.437 millones de euros, seguido por CatalunyaCaixa con 7.831 millones y por NCG Banco con 6.439 millones. Si a eso se suman los 3.077 millones que requeriría Banco de Valencia, las entidades nacionalizadas requerirían 43.784 millones, el 85% del total.
Los resultados de las pruebas de la consultora independiente se darán a conocer el día 28 de septiembre.
Además de las cuatro entidades nacionalizadas, Merrill Lynch prevé que la consultora identificará necesidades de capital en Banco Popular (3.103 millones), Banco Mare Nostrum (2.136 millones), Ibercaja (1.229 millones), Liberbank (1.199 millones) y Unicaja (93 millones). A este respecto, fuentes oficiales del Popular consultadas por Europa Press aseguraron que el informe contiene varios errores metodológicos que invalidan la cifra de déficit de capital que éste atribuye a la entidad presidida por Angel Ron.
Entre ellos, el más destacado es la inclusión por el analista en la cartera de crédito estresada de 20.000 millones de euros de crédito extranjero y a las Administraciones Públicas que Oliver Wyman no tiene en cuenta en su ejercicio para ninguna de las entidades.
En este sentido, y basándose en el plan de negocio presentado y aprobado por el Banco de España, "Popular descarta ayudas públicas y subraya su capacidad de generación de ingresos ante las próximas pruebas de capital", sostiene el banco.
Las previsiones de BofA sobre los cálculos de Oliver Wyman no incluyen un análisis acerca de las eventuales necesidades de capital de Ceiss (Caja Duero España), en proceso de fusión con Unicaja, y de Cajatres, cuya integración está prevista en Liberbank e Ibercaja.
Las entidades que no presentarían ningún déficit de capital a pesar de un grave deterioro macroeconómico esbozado en la hipótesis de Oliver Wyman son: Santander, BBVA, Caixabank, Sabadell, Bankinter y Kutxabank.
BofA prevé que las entidades nacionalizadas transfieran a la sociedad de gestión de activos, instrumento conocido como 'banco malo', activos dañados vinculados con el sector del 'ladrillo' por importe de 50.000 millones de euros. Esta cifra resulta de incluir en dicha transferencia activos adjudicados y morosos, así como créditos al sector promotor sanos, aún al corriente de pago.
El nuevo test de estrés
El segundo test de estrés de Oliver Wyman, apoyado en las auditorías de KPMG, Deloitte, PwC y Ernst & Young, evalúa el deterioro que sufriría el balance de cada entidad en un escenario muy adverso, el mismo esbozado en la primera prueba de esfuerzo global, con la exigencia de mantener un core capital 'Tier 1' del 6%.
Este oscuro panorama consiste en una caída del Producto Interior Bruto (PIB) del 6,5% en 2012-2014, un descenso del precio de la vivienda del 55% respecto al pico del 'boom', un desplome del precio del suelo del 85% y una tasa de paro del 27%.
El resultado que finalmente se dé a conocer de forma oficial el próximo 28 de septiembre servirá de base para que el Gobierno español concrete a la UE qué recursos necesita del apoyo financiero acordado por importe máximo de 100.000 millones de euros.

The report by Oliver Wyman will reveal the need for equity at a global cost of €51.5bn in a grouping of Spanish financial institutions, according to calculations by Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA). The analyisis firm estimate that the Banco Financiero de Ahorros-Bankia group would need €26.4bn, followed by CatalunyaCaixa at €7.8bn, and NCG Banco at €6.4bn. Adding to this the €3.1bn that would be needed by Banco de Valencia, nationalised institutions would need around €43.8bn, 85% of the total.
The results of the independent consultancy checks will be made public on 28 September.
As well as the four nationalised institutions, Merrill Lynch expects that the consultant will indentify necessary equity in Banco Popular (€3.1bn), Banco Mare Nostrum (€2.1bn), Ibercaja (€1.2bn), Liberbank (€1.2bn) and Unicaja (€93m). To this respect, official sources from Banco Popular, consulted by Europa Press, assured that the report contains various methodological errors that invalidate the equity deficit figure attributed to the entity presided over by Angel Ron.
Among them, the most prominent note is the analyst’s inclusion in the stressed-credit portfolio of €20bn in foreign credit and Public Administrations that Oliver Wyman’s checks don’t take into account, for any institution.
In this sense, and based on the business plan presented and approved by Banco de España, the bank maintains that “[Banco] Popular rules out public assistance and underlines its ability of generating income ahead of the next equity checks”.
BofA’s forecasts about the calculations of Oliver Wyman don’t include analysis concerning the eventual equity needs of Ceiss (Caja Duero Espanya), which is in the process of merging with Unicaja, and of Cajatres, whose merger is planned in LiberBank and Ibercaja.
The institutions that wouldn’t present equity deficits, despite a serious macroeconomic deterioration outlined in the hypothesis of Oliver Wyman, are: Santander, BBVA, Caixabank, Sabadell, Bankinter and Kutxabank.
BofA forecasts that the nationalised institutions will transfer to the asset management company, a tool known as a ‘bad bank’, and damaged assets of €50bn will be linked with the real estate sector. This figure is the result of including foreclosed and defaulted assets in said transfer, as well as healthy loans to the promoter sector, to stay up to date with payments.
The new stress test
The second stress test of Oliver Wyman, supported in the audits of KPMG, Deloitte, PwC and Ernst & Young, evaluates the deterioration that the balance of each entity would suffer in a very adverse scenario. This is the same as is outlined in the first global effort check, with a requirement to maintain a ‘Tier 1’ core capital of 6%.
This bleak outlook consists of a 6.5% fall in Gross Domestic Produce (GDP) of in 2012-14, a decline in the cost of living of 55% compared to the peak of the ‘boom’, a collapse in land prices of 85% and an unemployment rate of 27%.
The result, which will be made known officially on the 28 September, will serve as a base from which the Spanish government will summarise to the EU which resources need financial support, accorded to a maximum of €1tn.
