English to Italian: ART General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Source text - English Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.
In their most general form these activities include the production of works of art, the criticism of art, the study of the history of art, and the aesthetic dissemination of art.
The oldest documented forms of art are visual arts, which include creation of images or objects in fields including today painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media.
Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of art or the arts.
In modern usage after the 17th century, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, the fine arts are separated and distinguished from acquired skills in general, such as the decorative or applied arts.
Art may be characterized in terms of mimesis (its representation of reality), narrative (storytelling), expression, communication of emotion, or other qualities.
The nature of art and related concepts, such as creativity and interpretation, are explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.

Who I am
I'm an italian mother tongue translator born and based in Italy. From a very early age my curiosity and obsession for international music and cinema helped me turning my love for the english language into a proper skill.
When I graduated high school I got a diploma as operator for the touristic services, then later I got a bachelor degree in foreign languages and modern cultures at the University of Milan. In the following years, I have focused more on translations attending different training courses regarding both editorial and technical fields that helped me improve my skills.
In the recent past I have translated business correspondence, interviews, treatments for the movie industry, product descriptions for e-commerce and crowdfunding campaigns.
I never really stopped dealing with foreign languages as I use english as a second language almost on a daily basis for several reasons. As a person of many interests, who loves learning new things in general, I've always seen translations as an additional mean that let's me to grow both as a person and professionally and basically satisfy my curiosity. I'm also a voluntary subtitler for TEDx which helps me keeping my mind fresh and inspired.
