My name is David López Canelada, I am a freelance translator living in Valencia, Spain.
The languages I work with are English, French and Italian as source languages, and Spanish and Catalan as target languages. Obviously, I can translate between Spanish and Catalan in any direction.
Regarding my academic background, I have a Degree in Translation Studies from the University of Alicante, a Master's degree in Conference Interpreting from the University of Granada and a Master's degree in Localization and Video Games Translation taught by ISTRAD and UDIMA. Besides, I've taken additional courses in this domain, such as Translation for dubbing and SDH.
I have been working as a freelance translator since 2017 and, as a member of ATRAE, mainly in the audiovisual sector, subtitling and translating content of all types: films, sports interviews, video games, medical tutorials, documentaries, etc. But I also take and have taken numerous and diverse assignments for localization of IT content, proofreading, telephone interpretation and transcription in various fields. Some of my main clients today are VOD platforms and film festivals, organizations like UEFA and FIFA, and IT companies like Amazon, Avast or Microsoft, among others.
Additionally, I have been a volunteer conference interpreter at Amnesty International and a translator and proofreader at Translators Without Borders for several years, so I am also an expert in humanitarian aid and international politics.
As you can see, I am an active and motivated individual, and an enthusiast for my job, and I can assure you that I do everything with the greatest respect and care.
