I graduated from Dokuz Eylül University
with a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpretation (English, German, Turkish). I am
fluent in these languages and experienced in how to translate a text into the
target language in a way that will create the same effect as in the source
I am a sworn translator. My mother
language is German. I was born and raised in Germany and attended the high
school there. I lived there for 18 years so I can say that I have a full
command of the German language and culture. I worked as an English teacher in
2017, and I am constantly engaged with these languages as a freelance
Mainly I do translations in the English<>German
language pair in various fields such as:
Technology, Academic, Thesis, Medical,
Pharmaceutical, General Translation, Subtitle Translation,
Synchro., Advertising Materials, Document
Translation, Technical, User
Manuals, Tourism/Travel, Education, Sport, Fashion, Media, Correspondence, Entertainment, Movies, Tv
shows, Business, Science etc.
I do also translation in the English<>Turkish, German<>Turkish language pairs.
I’ve been working with various
international translation/localization agencies over the recent years, such as:
Lilt, Ulatus Crimson Interactive Inc., Translated.net (Microsoft Office
Project, Google AdWords Translators Team, German MT Evaluation Project Team),
Mother Tongue Limited, EDU Language Group
GmbH, Supertext Deutschland GmbH., One Hour
I did an internship at one of the
Turkey's biggest technology company, “ShiftDelete.net”. I did subtitle translations-synchronizations
for their YouTube videos.
I’m fully aware that the translation
process doesn’t simply consist of translating a word into another language.
Taking this into consideration, I have defined my working principles as
- Identifying the text type and
doing a parallel text searching.
- Identifying the purpose of the source
- Determining the translation methods
aimed towards the purpose of the text.
- Being consistent during the
translation in terms of the terminology.
- Using equivalent expressions
appropriate to the target language and trying to convey the meaning precisely.
- Being careful about punctuation marks
and spelling mistakes.
