I have recently obtained the Master Degree in Conference Interpreting at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, one of the best interpreters’ schools in Europe, and am now striving to put my skills into practice. As I moved back to Italy, I started looking for a job and bumped into your website, which looks really professional, and am therefore delighted to apply as a freelance interpreter in the following language combinations: DEIT, EN ES> IT.During my Bachelor studies by the Department of Interpreters and Translators in Forlì (DIT, former SSLMIT) I immediately had the opportunity to be a liaison interpreter in work situations simulated by some of the best interpreters’ teachers in Italy. I then spent the 3rd year in Heidelberg as an Erasmus student, where I took demanding courses among with mother-tongue Germans and where the language level required from foreign students was the same as for mother-tongue speakers. I was one of the three Italian students who passed the admission test of the Master Degree in Conference Interpreting and spent therefore other two years in Heidelberg, where I had the time to realise how effortful and satisfying at the same time this job can be. During two semesters I worked as a simultaneous interpreter in two series of 13 conferences organised by and held in the Institut für Übersetzen und Dolmetschen, the university’s department for interpreters. During the last semester I was hired by the Pädagogische Hochschule to interpret at a round-table about social networks. |
