Many thought that SEO measures are simple. All you need to do is choosing a few keywords! But is that indeed all you need for your website's SEO?
It's not so simple.
Although many know SEO's basic principles, SEO's situation has been changing significantly over these 10 years.
For 30 days, how about try improving your SEO countermeasures to increase your inbound traffics and prospect customers? You can download it from here for free.
The SEO we see today is different from the SEO we saw 10 years ago. For this reason, marketing managers always need to update themselves with SEO's meaning. Below, I have summarized SEO's purpose.
What is SEO
SEO is an abbreviated word for Search Engine Optimization, and these words' meanings still haven't changed. It's possible to list your company's website on the top of Search Engine Result Pages (SERP) through SEO. As a result, your brand, products or services will be found more easily through channels such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing by customers looking for solutions.
The methods for displaying your site on the top ranking change over time. This is mostly because companies behind these search engines periodically change their algorithms.
Here, I will explain a few questions regarding SEO.
How does one conduct SEO?
The main steps for SEO include optimizing your websites, researching keywords and obtaining inbound links. The results of your SEO countermeasures can only be confirmed after crawlers from search engines had done visiting your site and ranked it.
To speak it more closely: There are many techniques which can be used for improving your website's SEO. Search engines will look for factors such as tags, keywords, images, internal link structures and inbound links (backlinks). There are many other factors which can affect the search rankings.
For customers using our HubSpot, you can confirm whether your website is already optimized or not by opening the SEO Panel from your HubSpot Account.
Search engines will decide a website's ranking on the SERP based on the website's structure, design, its visitor's activities and also external factors.
What is organic search?
Organic search is a type of search where users access your site directly through search engines without going through paid advertisements. Organic search is one of the Marketing channels which can be utilized as one of Inbound Marketing to increase the amount of traffic accessing websites.
To speak it more closely: Currently, a website cannot increase its outreach only by implementing a large number of keywords. Search engines will recognize this kind of activities as Keyword Stuffing.
Keyword Stuffing is an act of implementing many different keywords to increase a website's ranking instead of providing users with the information they are looking for. If your site is perceived as stuffing keywords, the effect from SEO will drop significantly.
In today's SEO, it's necessary to avoid making your contents seem unnatural or contorted when making use of keywords. Although this might not be entirely true, however, keywords profoundly affect the length of articles. If your sentences seem unnatural after putting the keywords in, consider leaving them out.
What is SEO Strategies?
SEO Marketing Strategies are comprehensive strategies for increasing the number of visitors through search engines. There are two types of proven SEO strategies - the On-Page strategy which used keywords according to the search intention, and the Off-page strategy which mainly focus on obtaining inbound links from other websites.
To speak it more closely: What are the keys to implementing keywords into articles? Although these strategies are essential, there are also other points where you need to focus on.
To a certain extent, keywords aren't too relevant. When creating contents, instead of putting in a large number of keywords, it's better to choose keywords which meet the users' intentions.
It's better to establish an SEO Marketing Strategy which focuses mainly on the article's topic instead of the keywords to answer your audiences' intention and continue retaining your ranking (for another in-depth guide, visit this page).
By doing so, essential keywords will naturally be implemented into the articles, and as a result, your contents will be optimized. To entice users from search engines who are more likely to buy your services or products to visit your website, it's crucial to try to understand your target audiences and grasp their interest as well as their concerns (for an in-depth guide, visit this page).
What is organic traffic?
Organic traffic is the free traffic which comes from search engines such as Google or Bing. Although it's impossible to increase your organic traffic through paid search marketing, it's possible to improve this number by optimizing your websites using software for Inbound Marketing.
To speak it more closely: The most significant change during these 10 years is that the SERP which is displayed to a search engine's user will also affect another user's search activities. Furthermore, today's organic traffic's trend is also much influenced by SNS.
Only a few years ago, the impact from users who searched for contents using SNS's search function was small. However, today's SEO also use data from social media such as Tweets, Retweets, Author information from Google+, etc.
Even for search functions from social media, the contents and people who you are interested in are usually displayed on top. In order words, connections on your social networks such as your friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter are also put into consideration.
Sometimes, contents which are shared by influencers are also displayed on top. The contents which are shared by your friends and relatives are usually deemed as worthy and might pique your interest, and as a result, will occasionally be displayed on the top of your search.
As written above, when building your strategies for SEO, it's also necessary to also consider plans for SNS.
What is Direct Traffic?
Direct Traffics are users who directly access your website through clicking or entering your website's address without accessing from other sites, search engines and SNS.
To speak it more closely: Let's think of SEO as "Optimized Search Experiences." Although it's important to have users notice your company's website, having them read through the contents and keep on coming back to the site is also just as crucial.
By increasing the number of Direct Traffics, not only can you improve your Page Authority on Google, but your visitors will also be more likely to turn into customers.
Having your visitors stay and read through various contents on your website is also one of SEO's goal. Even if you increase your ranking using keywords, if you cannot gather visitors who will become customers then all will be meaningless.
Don't just limit yourself to thinking about how to increase the number of visitors; it's also crucial to try to find out who your visitors are and what kind of contents they are looking for.
The importance of SEO
SEO is important because it can help users find appropriate information and websites more efficiently. For businesses, conducting SEO not only helps users solving their problems but will also increase the number of traffics to their product pages.
To speak it more closely: In general, if a company's website is listed on Google's first page, then SEO will be considered a success. However, even if the page is temporarily listed on the top, there are no guarantees that it will bring back the desired result.
It's because one cannot say whether this will be effective for the business yet. Even if the website is listed on the top of the search ranking and bring in a large amount of traffic, visitors might not be able to find their desired information.
In such cases, the traffics which you took great pain to earn cannot be converted into customers. Just like this, even if your website could rank first using a particular keyword, it might not bring in any real results.
On the other hand, even if your website couldn't make it into the top 3, it might bring in sufficient effects. In reality, although sites which are listed on the second page or later might not receive as much traffics, there are cases where they achieve significantly high click-through rate (for more information, please refer to this page). For marketers who accept that their sites cannot be listed on the first page, this fact sounds like a ray of hope.
As I have explained previously, it doesn't matter how much traffics come to your websites, what matters most is their qualities.
How much does it cost for SEO?
If you conduct SEO on your own using different tools to research keywords, then it cost from 100 to 500 USD monthly. If you request for helps from a consultant, then it will cost from 75 to 150 USD every hour, and in case you enter into a contract with a Marketing Agency, it can cost you 10 thousand dollars a month. In general, SEO for Small and Medium enterprises do not require as much as large companies.
To speak it more closely: SEO's cost might include costs for designing strategies for increasing organic traffics and costs from Search Engine Marketing (SEM) such as Google AdWords. It should be worth noticing that the expenses from tools and consultants or marketing agencies will significantly vary depending on the services being used.
You might think that 10 thousand dollars are a tremendous amount. In reality, 40% of the companies are limiting down their expenses for SEO to under 1000 USD monthly (for more information, please visit here).
What is Search Engine Marketing?
Search Engine Marketing is a type of Marketing which use PPC (Pay-per-click) advertisements. By paying for the advertisements from Search services, you can display a small text ad on the top or the bottom of the search result page. This method is usually used for increasing the amount of traffic to the website and earning new customers.
To speak it more closely: By opening and paying from your Google AdWords account, you can improve your SERP ranking on Google (account registration process is entirely free). If you choose a particular keyword for which you would like to increase your ranking, each time a user click your link, you will be charged by a small amount.
This is called Pay-per-click SEM method, and since it's usually displayed higher than organic search results, this method usually attracts more attention from users.
Although Google's average cost per click is under 1 dollar, if you use a common keyword, the price will become much higher.
Methods for SEO
1. Inspect your website's contents.
2. By using keyword inspector tools, you can find out which keywords users are using to look for your company's website.
3. Decide a keyword for which you would like to increase your ranking.
4. Together with creating new contents, you will also need to review and optimize your old contents.
5. Monitor your website's performance.
6. Purchase software for Inbound Marketing or SEO.
7. Inspect websites which are producing good results.
8. Look for new opportunities to obtain inbound links from similar websites.
9. Monitor the changes in your ranking and traffics.
The above steps for SEO haven't changed in the past 10 years. These steps are still handy for increasing your ranking on Search Engines. The only thing which changed is the strategies behind how to use these steps.
For us, it's necessary to keep up with the industry's trends. Furthermore, do not forget that the very goal of search engines is to provide their end users with the best search results available. If you keep this goal in mind while designing your SEO strategies, there will be no doubt that you can obtain excellent results even if you can't keep up with the latest algorithms.
English to Vietnamese: Best places to see cherry blossoms in Japan General field: Other Detailed field: Tourism & Travel
Source text - English Springtime in Japan and the country watches and waits for the first sakura (cherry) trees to burst into bloom. Once they do, people flock to parks and squares for hanami (cherry-blossom viewing). The romance is passionate but fleeting, lasting only a week or two.
Starting from Kyūshū in the south some time in March, regular blossom forecasts keep the public updated as the sakura zensen (cherry-tree blossom line) advances northward, usually passing through the Kansai and Kantō regions of Honshū in early April. Latecomers can catch the blossoms in late April and sometimes early May in Tōhoku, the northernmost region of Honshū. Here are just five of the top spots across Japan to join the hanami party.
Yoshino, Kansai
Yoshino is Japan's most famous cherry-blossom destination, and for a few weeks in early to mid-April, the blossoms of thousands of cherry trees form a floral carpet gradually ascending the mountainsides. It's definitely a sight worth seeing – and one that many Japanese long to see once in their life – but this does mean that the narrow streets of the village become jammed tight with thousands of visitors. You'll have to be content with a day trip (doable from Nara, or even Osaka) unless you've booked accommodation long in advance. Once the cherry-blossom petals fall, the crowds depart and Yoshino reverts back to a quiet village with a handful of shrines and temples.
Maruyama-kōen, Kyoto
This one is a tough call – Kyoto has so many fantastic places to see the blossoms. But it's safe to say that the most iconic hanami spot in the city is Maruyama-kōen (Maruyama Park). In the middle of the park is the Gion Shidare-zakura, the 'Weeping Cherry of Gion', named for its proximity to famed entertainment district, Gion, where geiko (Kyoto's geisha) still perform. The over-10m-tall tree, whose blossom-fringed branches arch gracefully almost to the ground, is illuminated in the evening, from dusk until midnight. Oh, and there are some 680 other cherry trees in the park so you can bet on lots of picnics taking place here. Come early to grab a good spot. And later on, take a stroll along the nearby canal, the Gion Shirakawa, lined with cherry trees and and also lit up at night.
Yoyogi-kōen, Tokyo
Like Kyoto, Tokyo has many popular cherry blossom spots. While it's not the most historic – that would be Ueno-kōen – or the most picturesque – that would be Shinjuku-gyoen – we're doubling down on Yoyogi-kōen (Yoyogi Park) because it is just the most fun. It's a huge, sprawling park with tufty grass and plenty of cherry trees, with room for everyone and yet it still becomes a sea of people growing more and more unsteady as the day gives way to night. We've seen barbecues here, turntables and portable karaoke machines, more selfie sticks than we care to count and the odd guy in nothing but his shorts. The only thing Yoyogi-kōen is short on is public toilets (prepare to queue).
Arakurayama Sengen-kōen, Fuji Five Lakes
The view from the Chureitō Pagoda here is the ultimate sakura money shot: in one frame you get a classic five-storey pagoda, with curving eaves and vermillion accents, a frothy sea of cherry blossoms beneath it, and on the horizon, triumphant Mt Fuji still draped in snow. (Odds are you've seen the image on a guidebook cover or two.) So what if the pagoda itself isn't actually old (it's a war memorial from the 1960s) and you have to climb 397 steps to get here? Arakurayama Sengen-kōen (a park home to a not-so-shabby 680 sakura trees) is in Fuji-Yoshida, a city at the base of Mt Fuji. It's just about possible as a day trip from Tokyo, but you could also budget an extra day or two for hiking in the foothills of the Fuji Five Lakes region, for the chance of even more Mt Fuji views.
Hirosaki-kōen, Tōhoku (Northern Honshū)
Hirosaki-kōen (Hirosaki Park) is a huge green space (nearly 50 hectares!) covering the grounds of what used to be the castle Hirosaki-jō. All that remains of the actual castle is a 200-year-old keep, but the park is marbled with the old moats, which are now flanked by sakuraand criss-crossed with photogenic arching bridges. There are over 2500 cherry trees here and given that Hirosaki, way up north in Aomori Prefecture, is not the population centre that Tokyo (or even Kyoto) is, you can expect a bit more room to move around. Bonus: you can rent peddle boats to take out on the moats, which are invariably covered in pink petals.
Translation - Vietnamese Mùa xuân tại Nhật Bản là thời điểm khi cả quốc gia đều mong chờ bông hoa đào đầu tiên nở rộ.
