Bio
As of late a full-time freelancer, owner of a small translation business, with over 15 years of experience in translation (from/into Croatian/English/German).
In 2005 I graduated from the Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, where I majored in English and German language and literature. I soon got a job as a translator in the regional headquarters of an Austrian bank (former HAAB d.d. and today's Addiko Bank in Split, Croatia). Over the following 13 years, my tasks as translator and later assistant to Regional Director included the translation of all kinds of banking and financial documents (loan agreements, financial statements, balance sheets, L/C's, L/G's etc.) in all of my language pairs, as well as occasional assistance in marketing/HR/administrative tasks, through which I gained a broad experience in different fields of business.
Since 2005 I have also been an external/freelance associate to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations (today's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs), regularly working on translation assignments of the European acquis communautaire from English into Croatian in the years prior to Croatia's joining the EU.
During all the years of my official employment I worked as a part-time freelance translator (specialising in various fields, from business and finance, social studies, tourism, law and administration, technical manuals etc.) and since 2009 also as a certified court interpreter for English, German and Croatian.
As a passionate reader and book lover I take special pride in my work as a literary translator, and even though other type of work is what actually pays the bills, the subtle art of translating foreign fiction is what I would also love to pursue in the future.
Recently I took a big leap into the waters of full-time freelancing and am looking forward to take on as many assignments as possible from the PROZ.com community, which has been a huge help through all of my years as a translator.
