I am currently a freelance Italian to English translator, interpreter and editor. Prior to establishing my translation/interpretation career, I was an international banker specializing in managing the accounts of Italian, French and Latin American corporate clients. This involved extensive analysis of Italian, French and Spanish financial documents and intensive communication with clients in all three languages. In 2018 I became an approved Italian to English per diem court interpreter for the New York State Unified Court System. Currently, I also hold the position of editor of the Gotham Translator, the online newsletter of the New York Circle of Translators. I am responsible for writing, editing and publishing articles of interest to the New York interpreter/translator community. In 2020, I translated Gianna Coletti's memoire entitled Mamma a Carico from Italian to English, the English title of which is My Ninety Year Old Daughter, Copyright 2020 by Patricia Stumpp. I am currently working on the English translation of a novel by a prominent Italian journalist, I am a life-long student of Italian, Spanish and French as well as an avid reader in English. I would welcome translation jobs in the areas of law, business, economics and literary as well as interpretation assignments in Italian to English or English to Italian.
