English to French: Banksky news

It was like a scene out of a movie.
“‘Girl with Balloon,’ ladies and gentlemen standing in the back of the room,” auctioneer Oliver Barker announced with a bumptious bravado.
He was referring to the final lot of a Sotheby’s London auction on Friday, Oct. 5. The piece: a 2006 spray-paint-on-canvas work by the anonymous street artist Banksy.
When it hit the auction block, Barker began shouting out six-figure prices that bidders gobbled up, causing the painting’s value to climb higher and higher in a frantic crescendo. Women in dresses and pearls clamped their hands over landline telephones to field anonymous requests. Men in suits jotted important messages down into even more important notebooks.
“Sold!” Barker chirped, rap-tap-tapping his gavel against the podium. The piece went for $1.4 million ― over three times the estimated price ― tying the current record for a Banksy artwork.
Just then, however, the piece’s clunky frame erupted into an alarming and persistent beeping sound. The canvas descended through the bottom of the frame and emerged on the other side in tatters. The shredding process froze about halfway through, leaving the top portion of the painting intact. The bottom, however, appeared to be macerated into tiny ribbons.

Experience
Years of experience: 16. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2019.
I originally worked many years as a drug addiction's counselor and Public Health trainer while doing part-time translating and when I moved back from the US to my country of France In 2009, I started translating full-time.
My skills were tested at that time by the University of Chambery France, where I took the TOEIC and scored 95% in spoken english proficiency and 98% in written proficiency.
I have since then had the opportunity to translate two books in the fields of psychology and Motivational Interviewing for the Editions Dunod. Working on such long projects proved very interesting and I have since enjoyed translating and proofreading web articles, essays, particularly on travel, home life, public policy, spirituality, personal growth and diverse technical ventures.
Besides that, I am now often asked to translate websites in French or english as well as correct theses for students in different fields, mainly social studies, participate in focus groups to evaluate other translators work.
With my commitment to a job well done, I would say my greatest skill is my high level of command of the french language.
I am open to all opportunities and quite enjoy a challenge!
