Bio

Hi!

I'm Lara, a native English speaker based in the UK.

I am a qualified FR/DE > EN freelance translator and reviser, with 3 years experience in the translation industry. My foundations are a BA in French & German from the University of Bristol and an MA in Translation from the University of Cardiff. 

For the past two years, I have worked at EMPOWER Translate, a UK-based localisation agency. Starting as a Project Manager and now working as their Head of Vendor Management, I am well acquainted with the requirements for successful translation.  

Recent translation projects include medical case-studies/reports, patient information leaflets, press releases, promotional texts, various legal docs, scientific research reports (specifically relating to climate change) and articles for a climate solutions and action publication. 

In my spare time, I co-produce a podcast called Climate Decoded which explores the best ways to communicate climate change.
