Bio

I am Adele Bertocchini, a
freelance translator, editor and proofreader.

My academic background is
focused on foreign languages, cross-cultural communication and cultural
studies. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Interlinguistic Communication and
a Master’s degree in Specialized Translation and Conference Interpretation in
Spanish, French and English obtained at the School for Interpreters and
Translators in Trieste.

During my Bachelor’s and my
Master’s I had the opportunity to strengthen and deepen my knowledge of the
Spanish language and culture living in Spain and studying at the University of
Barcelona and Seville.

After my university career, I
worked for Centro Statistica Firenze and Markas srl on some translation
projects (I translated entrance exams from English into Italian and marketing
documents from Italian into Spanish and French). I also subtitled the movie Cirqo
by Orlando Lübbert for the Trieste Latin American Film Festival. Moreover, I
provided linguistic assistance and support to the Refugees and Immigrants
Office of the Prefecture of Trieste.

In the past year I worked for
Tod’s Group Ecommerce where I was responsible for the French and Spanish market
and for the B2C related daily relations.

I know how to use some CAT
tools such as OmegaT, Google Translation Toolkit and SDL Trados (2021 version) and
I am fluent in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point.

I believe I have excellent
writing and comprehension skills in the three languages I graduated in as well
as great management abilities acquired during my academic and work experiences.

I am a determined,
enthusiastic, detail and people-oriented person and I am always looking for new
challenging opportunities. I believe that one of my biggest strengths is the
ability to learn quickly and to easily apply new knowledge into practice.
