Burmese: KIDNEY DISEASE (ESKD) General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical (general)
Source text - Burmese Your kidneys have an important job to filter waste and remove extra fluid from your body to keep you healthy.
If your kidneys are damaged and cannot filter waste like they should, it is called Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).
Your stage of CKD is based on damage and how well your kidneys can still filter your blood. This ranges from
mild damage in stage 1 to severe damage in End-Stage Kidney Disease.
Burmese: KIDNEY TRANSPLANT General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical (general)
Source text - Burmese Kidney Transplant is when a donated, healthy kidney is placed inside your body and connected to your blood
vessels and bladder. It takes over the function of the failing kidney and helps bring your body back into
balance. A donated kidney must be a good match for you and can come from a living donor or a deceased
donor. A deceased donor is more common, but there could be a three-to-five-year wait. This is because
there are not enough kidneys for everyone who needs one. If this is the treatment option you want, planning
ahead is important.
