Bio

Having been born in the border region of US and Mexico from parents that were bilingual, I learned English and Spanish simultaneously while growing up. In the same manner I assimilated the culture of the Spanish and the English speaking world naturally, as if they were a package deal. This balance between both languages (and both worlds) was very useful to me in expanding my work and study opportunities throughout my adult life. I have worked, among other things, as a teacher of English as a second language in the Berlitz school of Monterrey (Mexico); as a bilingual elementary school teacher for hispanic children in the San Diego School District; and have done in-house work for a translation firm in Argentina and then freelance translation of documents for small enterprises, schools and libraries in Argentina as well as for a legal firm in San Diego.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from San Diego State University, but my interests extend much wider than the field of my degree. Philosophy, physics, anthropology, history, fine arts, etc. are all part of my diet of readings.
