I am interested in the Korean Medical Interpreter position at your
company. I am currently working as a Freelance Medical Interpreter in Michigan. I am familiar with communication among health care providers in
hospital setting. My direct patient care experiences at hospital include participation in professional
medical field with patients who suffer medically complex conditions having more
than two of the following: chronic kidney disease/end-stage renal disease, pulmonary/ventilator
weaning, cardiac/heart failure, neuro/post trauma, and infectious disease. In university, I took all pre-requisite courses required for Master
of Science in Physician Assistant studies; therefore, I have had not only basic
knowledge of medical terminology, professional manners and health-care ethics,
but also cultural competency. I also have several volunteer experiences at hospice agent,
acute-care hospital, and Korean Presbyterian Church free clinic. During my voluntary works at free clinic in Korean Presbyterian Church for two years, I translated and interpreted signs, symptoms, diagnosis,
plan of care, and treatment in Korean with detail to help communication between
patients and medical team in the clinic. I was born in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. I am a
bilingual speaker at both English and Korean as I was raised in Korea during childhood until I moved to
United States where I completed high school and university. I am a current AHA BLS holder and
Certified Nursing Assistant. I am also preparing to get into a Master of Science in Physician Assistant
Studies.
