Bio
Dear Madam, Sir,
I am a lawyer qualified to do legal translations. I work with English, Russian and French languages.
I am bilingual in Russian and Georgian languages, and fluent in English and French. Also, I have good knowledge of Italian language. As a lawyer, I have occasionally been requested to translate legal texts. I always took the work of legal translation with enthusiasm. I considered it helped me to improve my legal and language skills. For an international lawyer knowledge of foreign languages is a must.
In my translation work I use legal research skills. It allows me to provide quality work. I have 6 years of professional experience in the legal field, including more than two years fully in English. Legal translations at work and serving as a United Nations Volunteer (doing legal translations) have helped me acquire certain experience in this filed.
It is argued that being bilingual or fluent in certain languages does not help to translate by itself, and then one has to have a “gift” for translation. There are also other qualities for translators to excel, such as attention to detail. But, firstly, throughout the years, I have practiced or studied law in these languages. As an example, I can say that I am a lawyer qualified in Russian Federation. In addition, I have a Master’s degree in International Law, specialty of Sustainable Development (law faculty), fully conducted in English. Moreover, I have a Master’s degree in International Law, specialty of International Administration (law degree) conducted in French. Secondly, according to the feedback from my employers, I have always provided high quality work, attention to detail being one of my strengths.
As you can see from my curriculum, I have passion for languages. I like arts and literature. In my free time, I write poems and short stories. I also like to visit art museums.
If you have any questions regarding my professional background or other interests such as arts and poetry please feel free to ask. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Nina G.
