Source text - English I'm the bureau chief in Lebanon, where you have 18 different religious sects and ethnicities, and everyone identifies themselves along those sectarian and ethnic lines. In a country of four million, you have - imagine that - 18 different groups and each group has a handful of adherents, but that identification by this religious sect determines your ideology, your politics, how you're portrayed, how people portray you. It's suffocating in some ways and claustrophobic. What you had in Egypt was like a reinterpretation of this, a reimagination of this in some way, that our identity is not going to be smaller, but rather going to be broader. As Americans, it sounds almost, kind of, elemental, almost matter of fact, but it really is revolutionary because what people in that square, in Tahrir, were saying: "We're going to be citizens. We have rights that are due to us as citizens. And a government has to respect us as citizens. We're not Sunni or Christian or..." Granted, Egypt has a very deep sense of national identity. But what struck at that moment - and I've never seen in the Arab world before - was "Our identity is going to be broader rather than smaller."

En un país de 4 millones, imagínate, tienes 18 grupos diferentes y cada uno un puñado de seguidores, pero esa identidad según que secta religiosa determina tu ideología, tu política, como eres representado, como te ve la gente. Es de alguna manera asfixiante y claustrofóbico. Lo que pasó en Egipto fue una reinterpretación de esto, una reimaginación de esto, que nuestra identidad no va a ser más pequeña, va a ser más amplia. Como americanos, suena casi como elemental, casi se da por hecho, pero en realidad es revolucionario porque la gente en esa plaza de Tahrir estaba diciendo: "Vamos a ser ciudadanos, y tenemos derechos que se nos deben como ciudadanos, y el gobierno debe respetar a sus ciudadanos. No somos suníes o cristianos o"... Y Egipto tiene un sentido de identidad nacional muy profundo. Source text - English I've kind of grown up native to the shape and the sound and the feel of a Stratocaster. I kind of learned my way around the guitar on it. I fell in love with music with Buddy Holly and he used a Strat. I just got one, and when I played it, it suddenly brought alive what I was looking for in music. We had one really good guitar in the band, which was a Fender Tele Deluxe that I had. There's no place to hide on a Tele. You ain't got it? The "suck button" will be on. My first P Bass was a gift from Billy Joe. So, the real choice for me was gonna be, do you get a Jazz or do you get a Precision? It was a 1969 sunburst Precision Bass. I went back to high school and I said, "I just got a Fender?!" Everybody said, "You got a Fender?!" I was the only one in my high school.
