I am currently in the process of
transferring my Finnish master’s degree to Ireland via the teaching council. I
have not completed a TEFL or CELTA, but the teacher practise my teacher’s
degree included was very similar to these courses. The main difference is that
my training was for six months and not merely a month. At the moment I am
temporarily laid off from my teaching position at SEDA College due to the
ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. During my time at the college I have gained
experience with teaching pre-intermediate and intermediate classes, and test
preparation for the ISE test. I also conducted some extra conversation and
grammar classes in the evening. I love learning new things and I believe
there’s always chance for improvement as an employee. I think my best qualities
as an employee are my positive attitude, my ability to absorb new information
very quickly and my good work ethic. I
am very flexible concerning my working hours, and I do not mind coming in
earlier or staying longer if needed. I am also a very talkative person and I
smile a lot which makes it easy for me to work with people. As a teacher I like
my lessons to have a variety of diverse activities so that the students stay
motivated. I enjoy challenging myself by coming up with new ways to do things
or with completely new kind of exercises. |
