WORK EXPERIENCE
I have more than twenty years of experience as an English-Spanish translator and six years experience as a conference simultaneous interpreter, of which approximately seventeen years I performed as a freelance full-time professional translator.
Between 2002 and the end of 2004 I worked as a Senior Spanish translator in a software localisation company in Cambridge, UK: Alpha CRC Ltd. Most of the translation work was technical and IT related (software strings, documentation, help files, hardware manuals, etc.). At the end of September 2004 the company, in order to reduce costs, decided to make eleven people redundant and terminate contract with them. I was one of the eleven. In January 2005 I returned to Spain and reassumed the profession of freelance translator, something I was doing successfully between 1998 and 2002, before I relocated to the United Kingdom.
