Professional practices Shamshad Saad endorses's Professional Guidelines.

I grew up speaking Pashto natively. But, I have completed most of my education in institutions where courses delivered in different languages: Dari, in which I studied Secondary and B.A. in Economics; and English, in which I studied Diploma in Business and MBA - technically supported by the Ball State University of USA. Additionally, I have been a professional English teacher for years and recently certified as a TEFL teacher by ITTT (International TEFL Teacher Training) Institute.

I have translated several guidelines, manuals, school textbooks, teacher guides, short novels, M&E reports as well as other official documents (e.g. legal, financial, logistical, HR, and administrative) into/from English, Pashto and Dari languages to different governmental and non-governmental organizations. Furthermore, I have become an instant interpreter (among the above-mentioned languages) in various official meetings while working for the government and an NGO in Afghanistan.

My work has always been appreciated, I was honored with an Academic Excellence Award by the USAID and the Ministry of Higher Education for my outstanding performance while pursuing my master's degree. Similarly, during my work at the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan, based on my commendable job of translating a guideline, I was honored with a handwritten note of appreciation by H.E. the Minister of Education. Worth mentioning that due to my hardworking nature and professional performances, I have been promoted to a higher position in most of the organizations I have worked with.

In conclusion, Pashto is my native language. Besides having a native fluency in Dari, I am fluent in English and have a very good command of Urdu, Persian/ Farsi, and Turkish languages. I put extensive efforts to accurately assess the context of the source text, and then translate it to convey the exact source message in an authentic way that one can barely recognize it as a translated version.
