Bio

I was born in Araraquara, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. When I was 13-14 years old, I lived in Paris with my mother, for her doctorate, and my little sister. I had started studying French two years earlier, but it was during my stay in Paris that I really learned my second language on the job. At school, Boulevard Saint Marcel in the 13th arrondissement, I was the darling of French teachers who, proud of their pupil's learning, read my essays to classmates. That they claim that I expressed myself better in French than the natives, that did not always help me to make friends. Nevertheless, it was the watering can that made the seed of this love of the French language grow, which made me come back to France 15 years later to stay there for 20 years.

When I returned from this first experience as a teenager in France, I kept close links with French, among other things by attending the Alliance Française de São Paulo to deepen my knowledge.

I studied language, Portuguese literature and linguistics at the University of São Paulo. At the same time, I worked for editions, first as a text editor, then copy desk and finally French-Portuguese translator. I worked as a technical translator for Renault in Brazil. I was also a teacher of Portuguese as a foreign language.

At the age of 31, I left Brazil to live in France. I made a family there. At the beginning of my stay, I worked as a freelance translator, but despite my taste for handling words, the isolation of this job did not correspond to my need for social integration in my new home. So I left this work for something else to finally become an art therapist. My taste for language has meanwhile been expressed through the writing of several articles on art therapy published in France.

My life journey between France and Brazil taught me more to contextualize translation.

Back in Brazil, I resume my French-Portuguese translation activities.
