Source text - English This paper covers the methods used and key issues in pricing risks for classes within Marine and Energy, with a focus on the London Market. The general lack of data and understanding of the complexities of the business leads to a considerable variation in approaches to Pricing. This Paper seeks to give a good cross section of how risks are priced given the specialty nature of this business.
We have also considered other issues key to pricing these classes of business, such as assessing and allowing for the impact of Catastrophes (“Cats”). Issues surrounding Rate Change Monitoring are discussed, along with suggestions for best practice, and some examples to illustrate the problems faced due to the complex nature of these classes.
The need for good quality data is also referred to in this paper, as well as demonstrating the importance of Pricing within the Control Cycle, with specific reference to Marine and Energy classes.
Finally we have conducted a survey into current and future use of Pricing Actuaries within Marine and Energy Insurance, including obtaining a statement from the Prudential Regulation Authority. The results of how Actuaries interact with Underwriters, along with views on how well Actuaries understand the business they work in, are summarized in the Paper and detailed in the appendix.
Translation - Spanish Este documento encubre los métodos usados y las cuestiones clave en los riesgos en la fijación de precios para las clases dentro de Marítima y Energética, con un foco en el Mercado de Londres. La falta general de datos y la comprensión de las complejidades de las oportunidades de negocio conducen a una considerable variación en los enfoques para la fijación de precios. Este documento busca brindar una buena sección transversal de cómo se fijan los precios de los riesgos dada la especial naturaleza de este negocio.
Hemos, además, considerado otra cuestión para la fijación de precios de estas clases de negocios, tal como la evaluación y la concesión para el impacto de Catástrofes ("Cats"). Las cuestiones circundantes al Monitoreo de la Modificación de las Tasas son discutidas, conjunto a sugerencias para mejor práctica, y algunos ejemplos para ilustrar los problemas que se enfrentan debido a la naturaleza compleja de estos contextos.

Queda entendido que no habrá periodos de Carencia ni de espera para Enfermedades y/o intervenciones Quirúrgicas, Maternidad o Trasplante de órganos. Todos los asegurados ingresan con continuidad y con la cobertura de sus enfermedades preexistentes activa, excepto los calificados como Nuevos Asegurados para los que se aplicarán en las siguientes restricciones:
