English to Portuguese: THE MERCHANT WITH FOUR WIVES (piece of work)
Source text - English There was a rich merchant who had four wives. He loved the fourth wife the most, and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.
He also loved the third wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.
He too loved his second wife. She is a very considerate person (2), always patient and in fact is the merchant’s confidant (3). Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his second wife and she would always help him out and guide him through difficult times.
Translation - Portuguese Havia um comerciante que tinha quatro esposas. A quarta era sua favorita, e ele a mimava com trajes caros e a tratava com delicadeza. Ele cuidava dela com muito apreço e dava a ela do bom e do melhor.
Ele também amava sua segunda esposa. Ela era uma pessoa muito atenciosa, sempre paciente e era sua confidente. Sempre que o comerciante passava por algum problema, ele procurava a segunda esposa e ela sempre estaria ali para ajudá-lo e guiá-lo através das dificuldades.
