I am born in the Netherlands where I got my love for the French language from my parents. We always had French books, magazines and music in our house. When I was seven, my mother was already quizzing me French words while she was ironing. Later on French became my way to communicate in the world of Arab and North African music. A world that appealed to me so much that I emigrated to Morocco when I was 59. Fortunately, French is also an official language here. I find myself here in a multilingual environment with Moroccan Arabic, various Berber languages, French and of course my native language Dutch. |
