Bio
I have 2 years of experience in translating from English to Spanish, which has helped me learn strategies to work with a variety of texts. I worked as a translator for my university, where I was in charge of translating and revising web content about academic procedures, as well as course guides (the language combination here was Spanish-English). As a freelancer, I have taken on projects from a variety of fields, such as finance, law, and commerce, among others. My translated work is mainly used for websites and electronic devices.

As part of my career, I also spent 1 year collaborating with Coursera as a volunteer, where I devoted some time to subtitling educational content from English to Spanish. Since May 2022, I have been a translator for Wikipedia, working on articles with a new tool added by the platform.

I am quite knowledgeable about English since this was my specialisation at university. This has allowed me to have a deep knowledge of this language and understand texts of various levels of complexity. In my pursuit of a career as a translator, I went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Translation, gaining valuable insight into this field and improving what I already knew.

I would also like to highlight the fact that I am a native Spanish speaker. Translating a text involves being in tune with the target language and knowing what sounds natural and what not. In order to provide quality translations, I completed three courses on proofreading and editing. Throughout the training process, I learned how to revise texts in terms of grammar, punctuation, structure and style.

Technologically speaking, I consider myself a person with a keen interest in using new software, as well as a quick learner. Living in a highly technological era has made me aware of the importance of being up to date.
