Very responsive

Hello, everyone! I am a Brazilian teacher, with a graduate degree in Translation and Lexicon Studies, a Master's degree in Languages and Culture from Universidade de Caxias do Sul, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Languages at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, focusing on Translation Studies with a textual approach. I have been working as a freelance translator for the past couple of years, recently expanding my expertise to literary translation as well.

During my Master's research, I developed advanced skills in translation strategies, particularly domestication and foreignization, focusing on maintaining fidelity to the original text. This experience honed my ability to critically assess linguistic nuances and cultural contexts, ensuring that translated works retain the essence of the source material while adapting to the target audience.

I have also completed several short-period courses on Translation Studies, covering topics such as Game Localization, Audiovisual Translation and Subtitling, Proofreading in Portuguese, Interpreting for Refugee contexts, Practices and Ethics, etc.

Leonardo Flores did exceptionally great work. I give him an A+++. He not only took great care in his translation, but he made sure that the formatting was as close as possible to the original. He replies quickly to messages and is very focused on translating the work clearly so that the meaning really comes through. I can't praise his work enough. (A. K. Frailey, teacher and writer)

Leonardo is an indefatigable worker who takes endless pains with his translations and is not afraid to contact the author for clarification where he thinks it is necessary. This book, in particular, had a couple of complicated bits which would have been very difficult to translate into another language while still retaining important visual clues from the original. Leonardo succeeded in keeping these clues in the translated version where I was sure he couldn't. I recommend this translator very highly. (Brian O'Hare, professor and novelist)
