Bio
Hello, nice to e-meet you!
My name is Karina, and I was born into a family of Japanese background in Brazil. I'm a freelance translator of Chinese (Mandarin) > Brazilian Portuguese and English >< Brazilian Portuguese language pairs, with two years of experience. Currently, I'm focusing on gaming, entertainment, and education.
Growing up in a multicultural and bilingual environment, I've always been passionate about learning different languages and exploring diverse cultures. Regarded as a dynamic and fast learner, I've always embraced various aspects of life with enthusiasm.
I hold a BA in Portuguese and Chinese Language & Literature from the University of São Paulo. During my studies, I received a scholarship to study abroad at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Shanghai International Studies University as an exchange student. By the end of my program in Shanghai, I was recognized for excellence in the Chinese Language Program ranking as an 'Excellent Student.'
My experience as a language professional extends to transcription, gained during a year-long research program at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages, and Literature, and Human Sciences (USP). This opportunity allowed me to delve into historical manuscripts and hone my linguistic skills. I also have translated several YouTube videos subtitles (e.g. Benefits of memoQ for Freelancers, Freelanceverse - Adrian Probst).
Additionally, I interned at the ZTE (中兴通讯) Brazilian branch for one year, where I immersed myself in an international work environment alongside Chinese and Brazilian coworkers. This experience broadened my cultural understanding and enhanced my professional skills.
As a translator, I offer a cultural sensitive view and flexible services tailored to meet each client's needs. I prioritize deadline compliance and strive for excellence in every project.
Please feel free to contact me regarding my services or any inquiries you may have. I'm eager to collaborate and assist in bringing your projects to fruition!
