Born in New York City, raised in both Turkey and the United States where parents were intermittently deployed on long-term overseas assignments (one as a Political Scientist and the other as a Journalist).

Have spent a total of 20 (on and off) years studying, living and working in various parts of Turkey and the remaining 24 (of my years) doing the same in the United States.

After completion of the United Nations International School in New York City (1976), went on to get an International Marketing Degree from Pace University, Lubin School of Business Administration (also in New York City). Graduated in 1981.

Have former banking, investment banking & brokerage experience as well as a (now expired) Series 6 Registered Securities Representative license.

SHARP ELECTRONICS (Office Equipment Division) Country Representative-Distributor (for Turkey)

Spent 3 years as International Relations and Correspondence Manager. Duties included Turkish-English-Turkish interpreting for top domestic and international staff, handling and translation of all international correspondences including everything from technical equipment manuals to marketing plans and advertising campaigns (including culturally synonymous copywriting and motto-theme development).
