Bio

I am a native French speaker, University of Cambridge PhD student and published researcher in the Royal Society Open Science journal (see https://doi.org/10.1098/rsos.212013).

I have experience translating from English to French in very important medical and political high-stake contexts, be it translating to French the medical Website content of a renowned Patient Decision Aid Tool used by thousands of people around the world, or being in charge of translating to French the official UK government press release concerning the Astra Zeneca Vaccine risk-benefits ratios, within my work for two years at the University of Cambridge Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication.

As a Native French speaker and researcher at the University of Cambridge with years of experience in England, my understanding of the linguistic subtleties required to write professional, nuanced and precise phrasings in either language means that with me, your content will never get lost in translation.

Before my PhD, I worked for 2 years at the University of Cambridge Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication, where I was dedicated to making complex scientific, political and legal information more comprehensible to the public.

I had the opportunity of working on highly sensitive and important translation works from English to French as part of my work at the Winton Centre:

-      I produced the French translation of the infographic and press release used by the UK Government in the Official COVID-19 Public announcement about blood clots risks for young women taking the AstraZeneca vaccine. My translation has been highly mediatised in authoritative French journals such as Le Monde.

-    I was in charge of the English to French Translation for the French version of the website Predict, a Medical Tool used 2,000 times per month around the world.

This translation task required extremely careful choice of words and mastery of the nuances of the French language. Indeed, the clarity and accuracy of the translated information communicated directly impacts critically important medical decisions of patients on a daily basis.

-     During my time at the Winton Centre, I worked on several Transcriptions of medical interviews using the Transcribe Software, which helped produce our research and inform the design of another Winton Centre Decision Aid Tool used at international scale by thousands of patients and doctors. https://wintoncentre.maths.cam.ac.uk/news/predict-breast-cancer-tool-release/

My interdisciplinary academic background in scientific research, social sciences, and humanities allows me to offer fluid and trusted translations in French or English. I conduct my translation with close attention to detail and to a high standard.

French is my first language and I studied in the French educational system until I was 18. I graduated from a prestigious French high school with the highest distinction of the French baccalaureate, where I specialised in literature, political science, philosophy, and mathematics. My native speaker fluency in French, and my wealth of knowledge on the culture and history of France make me an ideal translator for complex and more challenging translation tasks.

Throughout my Undergraduate degree, I was a committee member for the French and Francophone Society of University College London where I conducted free classes for students wishing to learn French at beginner and intermediate levels. I worked on a wide range of English to French translations within the society, be it voluntary translation work for members of the society, translation of political articles, or literary works, used as material during our teaching program.

I believe that as a Native French Speaker and Trilingual with years of experience in some of the best academic and research institutions of England, I can offer the expert help you need.

Please get in touch with me at [email protected] if you are interested in any of my services.
