Source text - English • It is often advised to contract the back muscles and shoulders, or to bend the lower back even more at the top part of the movement - however, this is a mistake. The only movement that should be performed at the top point after lifting the weight, is pulling the chest forward, but without attempting to bring the shoulder blades together. Simply pull the chest forward, hold for a second or two, and put the weight down in a controlled manner. This is one repetition. • You should make sure that during the performance of power lift the back is not rounded, otherwise it can lead to a spinal injury. When the back is rounded, you should stop and drop the weight. The bar should move as close to the legs as possible - this will help you to reduce the stress on the spine. Under no circumstances should you perform the deadlift if you have an injured back or an intervertebral hernia. Be consistent and do not perform sudden movements or throw the barbell, slowly lower and lift the weight. The sudden removal of the load can damage the back muscles, elbows or shoulders. It is likely that at first, you will not feel anything, the injury will manifest after a couple of days. • Your eyes should look right in front of you or a little higher. • Do not lower your chin when performing the deadlift. • During both lifting and lowering of the barbell, you should never transfer the body weight to the toes - the bar will slip forward from the legs and you may get injured. • You should avoid bouncing the bar off the floor. This way you will make your work much easier and you will pass the most critical execution point at speed. Otherwise this training doesn't make any sense. It can also lead to an asymmetrical lift and an uneven load on the body, which can result in serious injuries to the spine. • You should not perform reps "to failure" in powerlifting. You should not use force or do unnecessary repetitions. For such a complex exercise that affects an important part of the body, such experiments are completely inadvisable. • You should not perform the deadlift while the lower back muscles still ache after your last workout. Take a rest and wait for the muscle pain to lessen. Sometimes pressure rises heavily while lifting a large weight. In this case, it is advisable to apply a tight bandage to the head. It should preferably be an elastic bandage so that the pressure bumps are felt less sharply. If it is required you can use a power belt to stabilize your back. • In the case where you still have a rather weak grip, and you are concerned that the barbell might slip, use wrist straps when performing the deadlift.
