Bio
Hello! I'm Mariángeles, a Sworn Translator English <> Spanish (LATAM) specializing in localization and technology.
My passion for translation and localization goes back to my early career experiences, where I developed a strong understanding of how technology can bridge gaps and create meaningful connections. Working as a virtual assistant for clients in diverse industries like real estate, healthcare, and agriculture, I gained firsthand experience in adapting tools like Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to specific business needs. These roles gave me a unique perspective on how language and technology intersect, which ultimately inspired me to specialize in localization.
My favorite projects involve localizing websites and software, as I enjoy the challenge of making digital products resonate with users in different cultures. I also like to translate texts about tourism, social impact, sustainability, and technology. These topics align with my personal values and allow me to contribute to causes that matter to me. Additionally, I have experience translating within the medical field, particularly in psychiatry, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare, which has equipped me with the expertise to handle highly specialized and technical content.
Currently, I’m honing my skills in using CAT tools to enhance efficiency and deliver top-quality translations to my clients. Working as an Operations Assistant for a video production agency in Baltimore, I was inspired to also explore audiovisual translation further and find innovative ways to connect with Spanish-speaking audiences. To deepen my expertise, I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Audiovisual Translation, Localization, and New Technologies at the University of Buenos Aires.
By joining ProZ, I hope to collaborate with clients and colleagues who share my passion for localization, technology, and meaningful storytelling. My goal is to continue learning from this vibrant community while leveraging my skills to help businesses expand their reach across Spanish and English-speaking markets.
