O avanço tecnológico busca melhorar o desempenho nas atividades terapêuticas e higiênicas do paciente acamado. No presente estudo foi realizada uma investigação qualitativa com a participação de 20 cuidadores de 12 pacientes adultos assistidos por Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) do município de Maringá, na região noroeste do estado do Paraná e sul do Brasil. Todos pacientes encontravam-se acamados com graves limitações, inclusive locomotora total. Foram utilizados banners de lonas de vinil, e similares, como matéria-prima para a confecção de lençóis para banho no leito. Os cuidadores foram treinados antes do procedimento e responderam um questionário para avaliar a utilidade, acessibilidade e interação com o paciente durante a higienização. O estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa com Seres Humanos (COPEP/UEM). O uso dos lençóis de banho por parte dos cuidadores foi considerado satisfatório, devido ao bom desempenho para a higienização do paciente, além de contribuir com o meio ambiente. Todos os critérios avaliados foram 100% aprovados pelos participantes. A reutilização da lona de vinil para confeccionar o lençol para banho no leito atende a necessidade terapêutica dos pacientes acamados, e tem relevância econômica, social e ambiental. Translation - English Summary
Technological advancements seek to improve the therapeutic activities and hygiene of bedridden patients. The present study conducted a qualitative investigation in which 20 caregivers and 12 patients from Basic Health Units from the city of Maringa, in the northwest region of the state of Parana. All patients were bedridden with serious limitations, including full locomotive limitations. Vinyl canvases banners and similar materials were used to manufacture in bed hygiene sheets. The caregivers were trained before the procedure and answered a questionnaire to evaluate the sheets’ utility, accessibility, and interaction with the patient during the bath process. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee in Research with Human Beings. The use of bath sheets was considered satisfactory by the caregivers because of its good performance during the patients’ personal hygiene, and also because of its environmentally friendly nature. All criteria were 100% approved by the participants. The reuse of the vinyl canvas to manufacture the in-bed bath sheet meets the therapeutic needs of bedridden patients, and has economic, social and environmental relevance.
