Bio
I'm Holly, a freelance translator working in french and english, specialised in scientific and environmental fields.
I offer translation, proofreading and subtitling services.
I translate from French into English and from English into French, as they are my two native languages. Indeed, I have dual french/british citizenship, as my parents are english, but I have lived in France for my entire life (since I was a one year old).
Before becoming a translator, I studied environmental sciences. I have an undergraduate degree in "Earth Sciences" at the University of Bordeaux, and a masters degree in "Biology, Ecology and Evolution" with a specialization in "Systematics, Evolution and Paleontology" which was co-hosted by Sorbonne University and by the National Natural History Museum in Paris (MNHN).
Because of my scientific background, I'm specialised in scientific fields, especially biology, geology and environmental content. I translate academic documents (articles, theses...), popularisation content (educational material for children, books for the general public...) and texts about ecology and sustainability for businesses. I also provide subtitles for documentaries and videos.
