Bio

I'm a freelance translator (German to English) and editor/proofreader with more than 16 years of professional experience. I offer DE>EN translation, transcreation and editing/proofreading, as
well as English-only copy-editing and UK/US localisation.

Prior to going freelance, I was chief translator and proofreader at an international translation company, where I worked for more than 14 years. I've covered an enormous variety of fields over the course of my career and can comfortably handle all kinds of content, but I particularly specialise in technical subject matter such as the automotive, manufacturing and construction industries, as well as more marketing-style texts requiring a touch of creative polish.

I have a particular affinity for research, which means I'm capable of tracking down all kinds of obscure terminology. Honestly, I enjoy the challenge!

My native language is UK English, but I have no problem translating into US English as well – I've done so for my entire career, including several years living and working in the US.

I use Trados Studio as my main CAT tool; however, I also have experience with a number of other tools and am always willing to try new things.
