English to Portuguese: Bangladesh: A Short History General field: Social Sciences Detailed field: History
Source text - English The Partition of Bengal, announced in 1905 by Lord Curzon, aimed to reorganize the Bengal Presidency of British India for administrative convenience. Dividing Bengal into East and West provinces, with Muslim-majority East Bengal and Hindu-majority West Bengal, Curzon faced socio-political and economic motives behind the move. However, widespread opposition, particularly from Hindus, led to its annulment in 1911.
Reasons for the partition included administrative difficulties due to Bengal's vastness, ethnic and linguistic differences, British interests in trade development, and efforts to mollify Muslims after the 1857 uprising. Muslims generally welcomed the partition for economic advancement, socio-cultural preservation, and political empowerment.
Spanish to Portuguese: La ira de las masas General field: Other Detailed field: Other
