Bio

I completed a Bachelor's degree in Applied Foreign Languages (English–Spanish) in 2023. In addition to studying languages and translation methods, I learned to use subtitling software and CAT tools. I interned as a translator for New York Habitat, where I mainly translated descriptions of apartments and articles about neighborhoods in New York City. I used search engine optimization, with which I am now thoroughly familiar. I also proofread and reviewed translations completed by other interns.

This academic background gave me knowledge of international business, cultural tourism, and digital marketing.

Afterwards, I completed two master's degrees in language and literature simultaneously—one in English, the other in Spanish. One of them offered a focus on “media and cultural mediation,” so I received training in organizing cultural events and became familiar with journalism and book publishing.

I also wrote three theses. The first analyzes the influence of the translation process on translators, using as a case study Charles Baudelaire’s translations of Edgar Allan Poe’s works. The second focuses on the translation of philosophy. The third, which I am still working on, examines the preservation of Catalan culture in France during Francoism. (For this reason, the diplomas will be available in a few months).

I have been working as a French tutor on Preply for more than two years now, which has further improved my language skills and given me a reflective and comparative approach to language—something I believe is very useful in translation.

I certified my mastery of French by passing the "Voltaire" exam, for which I obtained the highest grade of “expert”.
