Bio
Ever since I was young, I have been deeply fascinated by Korean culture, which led me to self-study the language since middle school. Later, I transferred to a university in Seoul, expanding my cultural understanding and solidifying my dream of becoming a bridge between Korea and Japan. To me, language is not just a tool for communication, but a meaningful way to connect different worlds. I applied to the ProZ ProBono program because I want to utilize my linguistic skills to break down language barriers and provide practical support to non-profit organizations and marginalized communities worldwide.

My greatest strength lies in my trendy, precise localization capabilities and practical translation experience across various media:

First, working in the Japanese marketing team at a well-known Korean cosmetics brand, I was responsible for translating and adapting brand stories to fit the language habits and cultural trends of Japanese consumers. Through this, I developed a keen sense of adjusting the tone, manner, and subtle nuances of texts.

Second, I recently challenged myself by taking a Japanese translation test for a Korean short-form drama series. Although I am currently awaiting the results, this experience allowed me to sharpen my practical skills in media translation. I focused on naturally adapting emotional lines and specific cultural nuances into colloquial Japanese, ensuring high readability and speed—traits essential for modern media.

With these experiences, I am confident that I can seamlessly and authentically deliver the valuable messages of non-profit organizations to the Japanese-speaking audience. I am fully committed to contributing my time and talents to making a meaningful impact through this program.
