Source text - English Built over 5000 years ago by Neolithic (New Stone Age) farmers, these passage tombs are truly remarkable remnants of a highly evolved society which by the 4th millennium BC, had settled widely across much of Western Europe. Both ritual and settlement were centered around these tombs, throughout the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, and Early Christian times, through the Norman invasions and beyond.
Translation - French Des peuplades hautement évoluées qui, à partir du IVe millénaire avant Jésus-Christ, occupèrent une grande partie de l'Europe occidentale, nous restent de remarquables vestiges : les sépultures à couloirs. Source text - English Some 400 projects will be financed from the total budget of €350 million over the programming period 2002-2004. The annual allocation for human rights has up to now been €100m, which was spent on 120-130 new projects each year. In 2004, additional money has been made available, bringing the total budget to almost €130m.
Projects are selected by calls for tender. So-called macro projects are designed for projects with European partners requiring a minimum of €300,000 and receiving on average €600,000. Micro projects are funded on the basis of local tenders and can receive between €10,000 and €100,000. The average is €24,000. Funding for micro projects is being increased, with the result that there will be a net transfer of funds away from European NGOs.

Jusqu’à présent, l’allocation annuelle pour les droits de l’homme a été de 100 millions d’Euros et, chaque année, ce montant a financé 120 à 130 projets nouveaux. En 2004, grâce aux crédits additionnels alloués, le budget total atteindra presque 130 millions d’Euros.
Tous les projets sont sélectionnés sur la base d’appels à propositions. Un premier groupe de projets appelés macroprojets regroupe ceux dans lesquels s’impliquent des partenaires européens. Ces projets réclament un financement minimum de 300 000 Euros et reçoivent en moyenne 600 000 Euros. Pour les autres projets, appelés microprojets, les bailleurs de fonds sont locaux.
